The interview process can seem somewhat daunting to a number of people, and often deters candidates from applying for, or securing a job. The important thing to remember is the purpose of an interview is simply to get to know you as an individual, not to put you on trial.
To help you prepare, here are a select few questions you could be asked:
Why do you want to work for us?
To answer this question make sure you have researched the company and the values we stand for. This will enable you to talk about the business and how you can make a positive impact upon it.
Why should we hire you?
Tell us about the skills you possess, things you have achieved and experience you have that fits the job description.
What would you say are your strengths and weaknesses?
Highlight your area of expertise and inform us of any areas in which you feel support may be needed to make an improvement.
Do you work well as part of a team?
Provide examples of how you have worked within a team, your contribution to this and how you feel the outcome of working as a collective helped you to achieve set goals.
Do you have any questions for us?
Use this opportunity to either refer back to the interview and gain a deeper insight on questions asked, or discuss your own areas of concern such as salary expectations, dress codes, contract types and progression opportunities.
